I am in love with Petra!!
So amazed by the Nabataeans history, architecture and even water supply system dating back to 1st century BC. Also, according to tradition Petra is the spot where Moses disobeyed God by striking a rock with his staff to make the water come forth, and where Moses' brother, Aaron is buried. Read Numbers 20 in the Bible, so interesting!

Hi little people down there 😗 |
I just got back from Jordan 2 days ago with my cousin and my friend. However, I couldn't get my mind off Petra. Petra is obviously my favorite place in Jordan. I mean, who knew someone like me, who was on wheelchair and had trouble just to climb up stairs 2 years ago could climb up the rocky hills to see The Treasury from above. It was such a memorable experience for me.

The Treasury from above |
The first day we reached Petra, we actually went for the Petra by Night. It is a musical performance by the Bedouin people and we get to take pictures of The Treasury with different lighting afterwards. We were quite late for the entrance, thus we could not get front seats. A little tip, if you wanna be early you better start to queue before 8.15pm.

Petra by Night |
The musical show was unique and very zen vibes. However, the tourists keep taking pictures and talking during the performance and it was quite disturbing. If you are reading this and you are planning to go Petra by Night, please turn off your flash and keep quiet during the performance. 😉

Don't forget to look at the stars |
The next day, after breakfast we went to see Petra in the morning. The walk from the entrance to the Siq all the way to the Treasury and The Monastery is very long, so you better get a great trekking or climbing shoes.

The camel literally bit my backpack...lucky it wasn't my butt 😅 |
We decided to hire Bedouin guide to lead us up the hills. It took us around 30 minutes for the shortcut. I suggest you don't go by yourself, just hire a Bedouin guide. I paid 10 JD per person because I asked my tour guide to bargain for me...hehe...
After we got down, we walked towards the Monastery. We made a few stops along the way to see more sites and artworks. Followed by donkey riding up to the Monastery because we were quite tired and had little strength left to climb a thousand more steps of stairs. We paid 25 JD for the donkey rides, for two-way trip back to the Treasury.
